All those attending this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will not be required to show vaccination proof, negative test results or wear masks, an update on the event’s official website stated.
“In accordance with local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Coachella 2022. However, the event shall be presented in accordance with applicable public health conditions as of the date of the event and which may change at any time as determined by federal, state or local government agencies or instrumentalities, artists or the promoter,” the website stated on February 15.

After two years of postponements and cancellations due to the pandemic, the music festival is set for April 15-17 and April 22-24 at the Empire Polo Grounds in California. The event will be headlined by Harry Styles, Ye, Billie Eilish and EDM group Swedish House Mafia.
The festival draws close to 125,000 attendees a day. Last year, authorities said they were cancelling the event as they thought the mass gathering would result in a mass surge in COVID cases.
“Both festivals attract hundreds of thousands of attendees from many countries, including several disproportionately afflicted by the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. If COVID-19 were detected at these festivals, the scope and number of attendees and the nature of the venue would make it infeasible, if not impossible, to track those who may be placed at risk,” Cameron Kaiser, a public health officer for Coachella valley, had said at the time.
