Television and film industry have faced their share of problems following the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown. Thankfully, though, Over the Top (OTT) platforms have served as saviours to most of us when every operation in the country was suddenly halted amid rising cases and we had nothing better to do. The streaming platforms have kept releasing new shows for their viewers to watch this year, and there are plenty of releases that are still awaiting in 2020. 

Here is a list of the best shows that are coming your way this year.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

While there are several Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) shows that have been aired on streaming platforms previously, this is the first time two major movie characters are being brought to the small screen. The show is set to release in August this year on Disney+ Hotstar.

The Umbrella Academy, Season 2

This Netflix series about a group of teenagers with superpowers is coming back again on July 31. Based on Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba’s comic series of the same name, the release date of the second season of this show got announced in May amid the lockdown.

Lucifer, Season 5, Part 1

Hanna, Season 2

Amazon Prime Video’s Hanna is based on the 2011 film of the same name starring Sairose Ronan. Esme Creed-Miles plays the role of Hanna in the series, who is brought up and by her father in isolation. The series, focusing on the struggles of Hanna, is releasing on July 3.

WandaVision

After Falcon and Winter Soldier, the MCU is all ready to release its next show involving major superheroes. It will focus on the adventures of Scarlet Witch (Wanda) and Vision, the Artificial Intelligence superhero, created by Tony Stark. The series will release in December this year.
