Former President of the United States
Donald Trump slammed UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson for becoming “liberal” and
said the latter is committing a “big mistake” with his green energy drive.

Trump said Johnson is trying to make the UK
into the Saudi Arabia of wind to cut emissions, adding that turbines “kill
all the birds” and are “horrible”.

Commenting on Johnson’s backing of
windmills to drive the UK’s push to a net-zero carbon economy, Trump warned the
Prime Minister he is “making a big mistake”. Trump said he liked Johnson but
said that he was wrong to support “ridiculous” renewable wind energy.

“I think wind is ridiculous. He is wrong,
Boris Johnson is wrong if he is going heavy into wind. He is wrong. He is
making a big mistake,” Trump said in a sit-down interview with GB News.

“I like Boris Johnson. I get along with
him. I have always gotten along with him. He is gone a little bit more on the
liberal. But I will tell you with energy, I am surprised that he would allow
(wind farming) to happen because you have one of the most beautiful countries
in the world. And you are destroying it with all these wind turbines all over
the place and you do not need them. You know that environmentalists are liking
this stuff. I think they hate the world,” he added.

Following October’s Glasgow climate meet,
the UK government has set out plans to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to reach
a target of net-zero by 2050.

Trump criticises Biden

Meanwhile, Trump criticised Joe Biden for
removing a bust of Winston Churchill from the Oval Office in the White House after
being elected as the President of the US in January.

The former president also believes the
removal of Churchill was a snub to the UK and signalled a further dwindling of
the so-called “Special Relationship” after it was started in World War II by
the former UK Prime Minister.

“I mean, why would you do that with Winston
Churchill, when you’re trying to get along with your country. It is… such an
important token,” Trump said.
