Snowboarder Lindsey Jacobellis won the United States’ first gold medal of the ongoing Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 on day five of the Games on Wednesday. The 36-year-old racer was in her fifth Olympics and captured the first U.S. win of what has been an otherwise dismal Games for the U.S.
The first doping case of the Games was also confirmed today, with Iran’s only male athlete testing positive for an anabolic steroid. Alpine skier Hossein Saveh failed the doping test on Monday, the International Testing Agencey said.
German athletes Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt won the doubles luge title at the Beijing Olympics on Wednesday night, their third consecutive gold medal in the event.
