New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Wednesday denied allegations of
touching a woman inappropriately in his official residence. The leader has been
accused of sexual misconduct by six women so far.
Calling the latest account of the accuser gut-wrenching, Cuomo told NBC News, “As I said yesterday, I have never done anything like this.”

The statements came at the backdrop of fresh allegations by a ‘The Times Union’ Tuesday report saying that an unidentified employee of the New York governor alleged that Cuomo touched her inappropriately and the incident took place in Mayor’s office.
The newspaper report further said that the accuser did not file a complaint but her allegations were forwarded to the governor’s legal department and the state attorney general’s office.

Claiming that he was “not aware” of the new accusation, Cuomo repeated that he would await the results of an independent investigation into the allegations, overseen by the state Attorney General Letitia James, reported AFP.
Letitia James, the Attorney General of the state of New York on Monday announced that two non-governmental independent lawyers will lead the investigation on the alleged sexual harassment by Andrew Cuomo.
The allegation will further damage the position of incumbent New York governor, whose term expires in 2022.
In case of a successful impeachment, the Lieutenant Governor of the state will take over for the position of the governor until the next election is due.
