LeBron James is a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association in the United States of America.

James’s growth as a basketball player started early at St. Vincent – St. Mary high school in Akron, Ohio, Cleveland, where he led the school to three state titles in their historic run. 

During his early years, James earned accolades including Mr. Ohio Basketball (2001-2003), Mr. Basketball (2002-2003), Gatorade Player of the Year (2002) and became a McDonald’s All American MVP in 2003.

LeBron was selected number one overall by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the 2003 NBA Draft.

He won the NBA Rookie of the Year Award in his first season and became the youngest player ever to do so.

James spent seven years with the Cavs, leading them to three postseason appearances.

In the 2007-2008 season, he won the NBA scoring title averaging 30 points per game.

James joined the Miami Heat in the 2010-11 season, helping the team win back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013 with LeBron earning Finals MVP awards in each campaign.

A couple of years later, James returned to Cleveland with hopes to help his home state win a title. 

In 2016,  LeBron led the Cavaliers back from a 3-1 deficit to win the franchise’s first championship and the city’s first title in more than 50 years.

Over the course of his career, LeBron has been named the NBA’s MVP four times (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) and earned three NBA Finals MVP honors (2012, 2013, 2016).

The four-time NBA MVP LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018 with a four-year, $153 million contract.

James ranks No. 5 on Forbes’ The World’s Highest-Paid Athletes 2021 list.

He has his own production and media companies, SpringHill Entertainment and Uninterrupted, along with the NBA’s top endorsement portfolio.

He also launched Ladder, a health and wellness company, in 2018 alongside Cindy Crawford, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lindsey Vonn.

James also has a charity, called The LeBron James Family Foundation, which opened its first elementary school in 2018.

The NBA giant is also one of the owners of the 19 Blaze Pizza franchises in Chicago and South Florida.
