On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights, the English Premier League shared a montage of sweltering finishes scored by famous league players captioning them, ‘Premier League Rockets.”

The video showcases sublime strikes scored by Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany, Arsenal player Thomas Rosicky, Tottenham midfielder Victor Waynama, Manchester United stalwart Paul Scholes, Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard, Everton striker Wayne Rooney, Chelsea player Michael Essien and tops up the montage wishing fans Happy Diwali. 

Vincent Kompany’s sublime strike featured in the video was scored against Leicester City during his side’s successful 2018-19 campaign, when the Pep Guardiola side lifted the Premier League title for the sixth time. The Thomas Rosicky strike against rivals Tottenham Hotspur from the 2014 campaign. Arsenal emerged victorious against their North London rivals courtesy of the Rosicky goal.

The Paul Scholes strike against Aston Villa came in December 2006, when the two sides met at Villa Park, with the Red Devils coming out on top.

Earlier in the day, the Premier League handle also posted a cartoon of accompanying the figures of Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, Virgil Van Dyke of Liverpool, Arsenal striker Partrick Aubyameng, recent buy Timo Werner of Chelsea and Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, along with the message Happy Diwali.

The English Premier League which has millions of viewers in India also posted a video featuring prominent players, managers and commentators wishing people across the globe of the occasion of the festival of lights.

The video was uploaded with the caption, “This Diwali, please ???? ????, ???? ???? and enjoy the festival of lights with your family and friends.”
