Borussia Dortmund‘s star striker Erling Haaland is all set to join Manchester City, having completed his medical with the Premier League side on Monday.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein first reported early on Monday that Haaland and City and agreed on personal terms, and the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal had been finalised later in the day.
With paperwork ready and 21-year-old’s signing expected to be announced officially in the coming days, or perhaps even hours, here’s everything we know about the deal.

Transfer fee:
Ever since Haaland joined Dortmund in January 2020 and set the Bundesliga on fire, it had been reported that clubs would have to pay €75 million to trigger the Norwegian’s release clause.
However, it appears that City have got themselves a bargain, with Romano reporting that Pep Guardiola has struck a deal with Dortmund that will see the striker move to Manchester for as little as €60 million.
While €60 million is certainly a lot of money, it still qualifies as a bargain, with Transfermarkt estimating Haaland’s market value to be in the ballpark of €160 million.

Wages:
Ever since rumours of Haaland’s move to City surfaced, it had been reported that the Citizens were willing to break the bank and pay astronomical wages to lure the striker to Manchester.
However, with the framework of the deal now in place, Romano has confirmed that Haaland will not be paid a higher wage than Kevin De Bruyne, who is the club’s highest earner.
De Bruyne earns £375,000 per week, and Haaland will reportedly receive a similar wage to ensure that City do not break their wage structure.

Contract length:
Haaland will sign with City on a long-term four-year contract that will see him stay at Manchester till June 2027.
When will the signing be completed?
With everything in place for Haaland’s move to City, the signing is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, and most certainly by the end of this week.
The 21-year-old and his family have also reportedly requested that his move be announced this week, as it would allow him time to bid a proper farewell to Dortmund fans who adore him.
