Rajeev Shankarrao Satav was an Indian politician representing the Indian National Congress (INC). He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha from Hingoli in Maharashtra. He Satav, 46, died on Sunday, only days after recovering from COVID-19, reported PTI.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi once described Satav as a rising star of the party and was known for his promptness and work ethic. He was a member of the Screening Committee for the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections in 2017. Following his stint as president of Maharashtra Pradesh Youth Congress from 2008 to 2010, he became the president of the Indian Youth Congress from 2010 to 2014.  

He died on May 16, 2021, in Pune, Maharastra, only a few days after recovering from COVID-19. “Anguished by the passing away of my friend from Parliament, Shri Rajeev Satav Ji. He was an upcoming leader with much potential. Condolences to his family, friends and supporters. Om Shanti,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And many other politicians in the country poured in their condolences following his death.
