Rohit Sharma will be on the verge of achieving a
career milestone when Mumbai Indians take on Rajasthan Royals on Saturday at
the DY Patil Stadium. The MI skipper is just 64 runs away from completing
10,000 runs in T20 cricket, the shortest format of the game. So far only six cricketers have
achieved this milestone.

Rohit, who scored 41 in his last outing against Delhi
Capitals, will become the fifth-fastest to score 10,000 T20 runs after Chris Gayle,
Virat Kohli, David Warner and Aaron Finch.
Rohit will be playing his 359th match in the format on
Saturday.
The West Indies great Gayle leads the chart with
whopping 14,562 runs in 463 games. Shoaib Malik (11,698), Kieron Pollard
(11,430), Aaron Finch (10,444), Virat Kohli (10,314) and David Warner (10,308)

As a career milestone awaits Rohit, he will face a
daunting task against a buoyant Rajasthan Royals, who defeated SunRisers
Hyderabad by a massive 61-run margin in their first game of the IPL 2022. The likes of Trent Boult, Prasidh
Krishna, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will throw a stiff challenge to Rohit.
Boult, Krishna and Chahal have done well against SRH.
The right-handed batter will also have to be wary of
his recent lean patch in IPL. Since 2020, Rohit could score just four fifties
in 26 innings at an average of 29. His strike rate has also not been
outstanding. He managed just 130 SR in these innings, which is much lower than
his scoring rate for India in T20 Internationals. In the past two years in India
colours, Rohit has got 680 runs in 21 innings at a strike rate of almost 145.

In search of their first win in the ongoing season of
IPL, Mumbai Indians will look forward to their skipper Rohit Sharma leading
from the front along with Ishan Kishan, who scored 81 not out in the last game.
Ahead of the RR game, Suryakumar Yadav has joined the MI team after his
recovery at the NCA, and he is likely to bat at the number three position. He
had suffered a hairline fracture while fielding against West Indies in the
recent T20I series.
