Ayanna Williams, an American woman who currently holds the record for longest fingernails in the world (female), has finally cut her nails after growing them for over 28 years, the Guinness World Records (GWR) announced on Wednesday.
GWR shared an 8-minute clip on YouTube, which showed Dr Allison Readinger of US Trinity Vista Dermatology cutting Williams’ nails with an electric rotary tool.

“Ayanna Williams had been growing her nails for over 25 years but she finally decided it was time for the ultimate manicure,” the video description read.

According to GWR, Williams’ nails were measured at a final length of 733.55 cm (24 ft and 0.7 in). She has held the record title since 2017.

The nails will now go on display at Ripley’s Believe It Or Not!, an American franchise that deals with strange and unusual items, in Orlando, Florida.
GWR also shared a series of pictures of Williams on Instagram that showed before and after results of the nail procedure.

Williams, who hails from Texas, plans to grow her nails again but not to the length she previously measured at, GWR said on YouTube.
