In what can be dubbed as one of the most significant development in over ninth month long territorial dispute in Ladakh, the disengagement of Indian and Chinese troop on the Southern and Northern bank of Pangong lake has been fully completed, reported news agency ANI citing Indian Army sources.

According to Indian Army, the Indian troops have moved to their depth locations and 10th round of senior commander level talks will be held on Saturday at Chushul-Moldo.
During the Budget session, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told the parliament about the pact that both countries made.
“The agreement that we have been able to reach with the Chinese side for disengagement in Pangong lake area envisages that both sides will cease their forward deployments in a phased, coordinated and verified manner,” Singh said.

Meanwhile, China on Friday honoured four PLA soldiers involved in the face-off with India on June 20, which left 20 Indian soldiers dead. This marks Beijing’s first acknowledgement of casualties on Chinese side during the Galwan Valley clashes.
A top military body of China, Central Military Commission, awarded four soldiers and a colonel, who led the team and was seriously injured, reported the People’s Daily, China.

India and China were in a standoff in eastern Ladakh reportedly since April-May last year, as tensions between the two nations escalated after June clash.
Since then, various rounds of talks at military and diplomatic level have been to resolve the dispute after which both the militaries reached an agreement to deploy troops on both sides of Pangong lake area.
