Are we alone in this limitless Universe? This is a question that has baffled many space fans. There’s so little we know know about other life forms and we continue to discover other planets. Despite being on the hunt for signs of life outside our planet, space scientists have not been able to satiate our curiosity. Regardless, space enthusiasts have encountered unverified accounts of UFO sightings in different corners of the world. A scientist from the Florida-based National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) recently tried to address the mystery about the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Astrobiologist Dr Lindsay Hays of NASA said that scientists have been attempting to seek answers for decades now, but they have not found any signs of life in the universe beyond Earth.

For example, over the years, NASA has deployed five rovers and four landers to Mars. High-resolution cameras attached to their orbiters scan the Martian surface, looking for any form of life. These space expeditions have only confirmed different environments while exploring a small fraction of the red planet. They collect more evidence about various environments for life the further they venture.

“So we can’t say yet whether or not aliens exist,” Hays concluded in a video shared by NASA on Instagram, while reiterating that the scientists will continue their search for life on other planets. Numerous space expeditions with cutting edge technology will continue this mission to unexplored parts of the universe.

Quoting astronomer and best-selling writer Carl Sagan, Hays said, “The universe is a pretty big place. If it’s just us, it seems like an awful waste of space.”

However, several Instagram users who commented on the post said life does exist outside Earth and it’s only a matter of time before NASA finds it. “Of course they do! They do!” read one comment.
