Larry Elder, one of the leading Republican candidates vying to replace California‘s Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in Tuesday’s recall election, has alleged fraud in the ongoing poll process. “There might very well be shenanigans, as there were in the 2020 election,” Elder said, after his campaign website shared the link to a “Stop CA Fraud” online form on Monday that claims to have “detected fraud” in the yet-to-be declared results, “resulting in Governor Gavin Newsom being reinstated as governor.” Former US President Donald Trump also issued a statement saying, “Does anybody really believe the California Recall Election isn’t rigged?”
