A group of farmers attacked a BJP MLA in
Malout, Muktsar district, Punjab on Saturday. They tore up his shirt and beat
him up.
Farmers strongly thwarted against
the BJP MLA Arun Narang from Abohar who had gone to Malout to address a press conference.
The Police officials stationed
over there tried to control the group and took the MLA to safety, said Jaspal
Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, PTI reported.
Narang
was allegedly punched by some people who also threw black-colored liquid on him.
They did this to show their anger against the three farm laws which has not received a good welcome. The group of farmers were already waiting for him at the BJP office to catch a chance to hit him.
Along with Narang, many BJP workers were thrashed and the party office was destroyed too. The MLA and the workers were taken into a shop and were shifted through the back door to a safer place.
