US President Donald Trump on Friday launched a last-minute reelection push in the key-swing state of Florida, insisting that COVID-19 is disappearing. His Democratic opponent for the Presidential campaign Joe Biden, however, stated to Americans that the President had abdicated his responsibility for containing the pandemic, with a resurgence of the novel virus.
With already 50 millions votes cast, Biden is surging ahead of Trump in national polls, Biden is also leading in key-swing states of Florida, which is infamous for deciding elections like in the 2000 Bush-Gore Presidential bid.

The final Presidential debate is unlikely to sway the perception of the average American, reported AFP. However despite trailing in all major national polls in 2016, Trump had pulled off a stunning win on election night by defeating Hillary Clinton.
The Trump campaign has now decided to “make a grueling series of campaign stops through the battlegrounds (states) to try and repeat” what it achieved in 2016.
Trump on Friday began his rally at a famous retirement community ‘The Villages’ looking to woo politically powerful seniors’ vote in Florida, as per AFP report.
Speaking at the community, Trump talked about how Biden talked about “COVID, COVID, COVID,” constantly trying to “scare people.”
Trump added, “We’re going to quickly end this pandemic, this horrible plague,” while addressing the gathering.
Retorting to Biden’s quip of ‘dark winter’, the US President stated, “We’re not entering a dark winter. We’re entering the final turn and approaching the light at the end of the tunnel.”
The 74-year-old then made unsubstantiated claims about how Joe Biden as President would let in hordes of illegal immigrants, who would be , “criminals and rapists and even murderers.”
Trump then made another dubious claim that, “Joe Biden cares more about illegal aliens than he does about senior citizens.”
The Republican candidate’s next stop was Pensacola, Florida. Trump will also cast his ballot on Saturday in his legal home residency of West Palm Beach.
In the remainder of the weekend Trump will continue with his campaign, addressing rallies in North Carolina, Ohio, New Hampshire at a frantic pace.
Trump stated that he would be conducting five to six rallies a day by November 3.
Democratic candidate Joe Biden is also ramping up campaign activities ahead of the November 3 election night, as per AFP report.
The 77-year-old delivered a speech in his home state of Delaware where he criticised President Trump’s record of handling the pandemic and economic recovery.
Speaking at the rally, Biden said, “We saw him refuse to take responsibility for a crisis that should have been met with real, presidential leadership.”
He added, “We saw him diminish the pain felt by so many Americans.” “We are more than eight months into the crisis and the president still doesn’t have a plan,” claimed the former vice-president.
Addressing his rally, Biden added, “He’s given up. He quit on you, on your family, on America. He just wants us to grow numb and resigned to the horrors.”
The Democratic Presidential candidate is slated to travel to Pennsylvania, a key battleground state on Saturday.
Barack Obama will join the Biden camp at his rally in Miami scheduled also for Saturday.

Trump’s campaign has been hit hard by his handling of the coronavirus pandemic, reported AFP.
In addition to his management of the global crisis, Trump’s erratic behaviour and bad temper hasn’t helped his cause, added an AFP report.
Speaking of his performance on Thursday’s debate, the US President said, “I thought I did great,” and added, “It’s two different styles. I can do different styles.”
