Regarding a search for two dangerous Saskatchewan suspects, Manitoba and Alberta have been added to the dangerous person alert list.

Following stabbings on the James Smith Cree Nation and in Weldon, the RCMP published additional information on Sunday afternoon, stating that 10 people were killed and 15 were injured.

Following allegations of many stabbings in James Smith Cree Nation, Meltfort RCMP issued a warning for Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson to the entire province of Saskatchewan.

“If Damien and Myles are listening, or receive this information, I would ask that they turn themselves into police immediately,” Blackmore said.

“They’re considered armed and dangerous … at this point we don’t know if they have changed vehicles since this morning. Their location and direction of travel is unknown.”

Myles Sanderson is six feet one inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, whereas Damien Sanderson is five feet seven inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. Both have dark eyes and black hair.

The people have been told to take cover after a dangerous person alert was issued.

“Do not leave a secure location. Use caution allowing others into your residence,” the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) issued a warning in Saskatchewan to people not to pick up hitchhikers.

Anyone who observed the individuals or the car was told by the police to stay away and call the police. The police reported that “the suspects may be in a black Nissan Rogue [vehicle]”.

Sask. RCMP provided an update at 11:45 am that the black Nissan Rogue with the SK licence plate 119 MPI may be seen by the suspects in the Arcola Ave neighbourhood of Regina.

Rhonda Blackmore, the assistant commissioner in charge of the Saskatchewan RCMP, told reporters in Regina that “some of the victims have been targeted by the suspects and others have been attacked randomly.”

The 15 injured were carried to a hospital, but according to Blackmore, there may have been more people who went looking for help themselves.

According to her, the assaults happened in 13 separate places on the James Smith Cree Nation and close-by Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon.

She opted not to address how the police discovered that some of the victims were targeted, stating that the matter is still under investigation.

A state of emergency had been declared, according to the James Smith Cree Nation, and two operations centres had been established to serve locals.

Before 6 am according to Blackmore, the police started getting reports of stabbings on the First Nation. Following many more allegations of assaults, police issued a warning at noon stating that a vehicle believed to be transporting the two suspects had been observed in Regina.

As thousands of spectators converged on the city for the annual sold-out Labor Day game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, police officers started searching the city, and security at Mosaic Stadium was increased.

“The attacks in Saskatchewan today are horrific and heartbreaking. I’m thinking of those who have lost a loved one and of those who were injured,” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted.

“We are closely monitoring the situation, and urge everyone to follow updates from local authorities. Thank you to all the brave first responders for their efforts on the ground,” he added.
