A man was shot by police in northern Philadelphia after the former fatally shot a man in the face at a FedEx facility in Philadelphia’s Tinicum Township. The suspect was shot at the intersection of North 10th and Westmoreland Street by the police right after 5:30 PM on Friday, reports suggest.
He was later taken to the Temple University Hospital for treatment. The suspect was shot only after he/she started firing at the police. No injury to any law enforcement personnel has been reported as a result of the incident. The police have also clarified that there is no threat to the local community.
The murder that led to the chase and eventual shooting had taken place at the FedEx facility that was near the Philadelphia International Airport. The fight that resulted in this fatal shooting was reportedly a work-related one. CBS3 reports that the incident had taken place in the facility’s parking lot.

FedEx has issued a statement after this incident came to light: “This violent, thoughtless attack has shocked and grieved us. Our deepest condolences go out to the victim’s family and everyone else impacted by this awful incident. We are working closely with the authorities conducting the investigation.”
Delaware County District Attorney’s Office has said that an investigation into the incident is currently underway.

Public shootings have become a menace in the United States in recent years. The town of Uvalde, which was rocked by a mass shooting that left 21 individuals (among whom there were 19 children) dead, has recently decided to suspend its entire school district police force. A number of family members of the victims had been protesting outside the office of the school district, which is believed to have led to said suspension.
