Police and fire rescue officials were dispatched on Tuesday morning to schools in Miami-Dade and Broward to investigate allegations of potential threats.
Miami Fire Rescue responded to a call concerning a potential incident at Miami Central Senior High School, which is located at 1781 NW 95th Street in West Little River. Lockdown was imposed at the school.

The Ronald W. Reagan/Doral Senior High School, located at 8600 NW 107 Avenue in Doral, was likewise the subject of a purported threat. Lockdown was also imposed on the school.
The county’s education district claimed to have received calls relating to the schools and a few others and was able to verify that there was in fact no threat.
“It appears to be a hoax. We’re getting the same threat at different schools,” Miami-Dade schools police Chief Edwin Lopez said.
They may have been swatting calls, in which a caller reported a threat at a particular location when none actually existed.

Lockdowns were lifted at all of the impacted schools about 10 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to West Broward High School to look into a potential swatting report, Pembroke Pines tweeted. According to police, there is no proof that there are any safety issues at the school. As a precaution, the school was also put on lockdown.
Police in Pembroke Pines reported that they are aware of more swatting calls that may be related to the incident at West Broward High and that have affected other local schools.

They declared that the West Broward campus is safe and that they are looking into the caller’s origin.
Before 10:15 am, Dillard High School got a call reporting an active shooter, according to Fort Lauderdale police. Lockdown was imposed at the school. They said that neither victims nor shooting evidence had been uncovered.
The calls came in as Nikolas Cruz, the Parkland school shooter was beginning his closing arguments in the trial’s penalty phase.
