Hollywood actor and reality TV star Kirstie Alley has died aged 71. Alley was suffering from cancer, but was diagnosed only recently. Her co-stars like John Travolta, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Robert Patrick have paid tributes to the late star on death.

Alley has had an extensive career in both films and television, and in the latter, was successful in both fictional and non-fictional shows. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the late actor’s net worth was around $40 million.

Cause of death
After Alley’s death, her children released a statement on social media where they announced that their mother had died of cancer. The note also mentions that the cancer was only “recently discovered”. However, the exact type of cancer that Alley was suffering from has not been revealed yet.
Marriages
Alley married her high school boyfriend, Bob Alley, in 1970. The former couple parted ways in 1977. Bob shared the same last name as Kirstie’s family. Six years later, on December 22, 1983, she married Parker Stevenson.
Alley and Stevenson spent 14 years together and separated in 1997.

Children
Alley suffered a miscarriage after her marriage to Stevenson. The couple later adopted a son, William True Stevenson, in 1992.
The couple proceeded to adopt another child, daughter Lillie, in 1995.
The actor became a grandmother in 2016 when William’s wife gave birth to their son.

Scientology
In 1979 Alley joined the Church of Scientology and admitted to having overcome her cocaine addiction by attending the church’s Narconon programme.
Alley bought a mansion worth $1.5 million from fellow Scientologist Lisa Marie Presley in May of 2000. The mansion has an area of 5,200 square feet.
In the year 2007, Alley donated $5 million to the Church of Scientology.
