Gujarat postpones board exams for classes 10, 12 over surge in COVID cases

  • The exams were scheduled from May 10 to 25
  • The new dates will be announced after reviewing the coronavirus situation on May 15
  • CBSE has cancelled board exams for class 10 and postponed those for class 12

Amid a massive surge in COVID-19 cases, Gujarat has postponed the board examinations for class 10 and 12, Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office announced on Thursday. The exams were scheduled from May 10 to 25.

The new dates will be announced after reviewing the coronavirus situation on May 15, the statement issued by the CM’s office read.

And students of classes 1 to 9 will be promoted without any exams.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled board exams for class 10 and postponed those for class 12. The new exam dates are yet to be announced.

Among the states that have either cancelled or postponed the coard exams are RajasthanPunjab and Uttar Pradesh
