Alia Bhatt has once again become a victim of online trolls, this time for posting an old picture to wish the Indian Olympics team. The actor posted a photograph of the contingent from the 2012 London Olympics, which was led by Sushil Kumar.

“Best of luck to the Indian contingent,” Alia wrote on her Instagram Stories with the Indian flag and heart emojis. Social media users were quick to spot the error as they spotted Sushil Kumar carrying the Indian flag. For those unversed, Sushil Kumar won a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics and a bronze in the 2021 edition. He is currently in jail in connection with a murder case.

“Can’t wait to see Mary Kom win and Alia Bhatt post a picture of Priyanka Chopra to congratulate her,” one person wrote. 

Meanwhile, several Bollywood stars sent out their best wishes to Team India ahead of the Olympics opening ceremony on Saturday.

“Sending my best wishes and support to Team India for the #TokyoOlympics stay safe and best of luck. We’re all cheering for you! #Cheer4India @WeAreTeamIndia (sic),” Aditi Rao Hydari wrote on Twitter.
