The Grammy Awards are frequently referred to as “Music’s Biggest Night,” and in 2023, both the performers and presenters as well as the nominees may agree. The Recording Academy’s annual showcase gives artists a chance to raise their profile with jaw-dropping musical performances, eye-catching attire, and perhaps the odd joke, good or bad. It’s not just about filling up the trophy case, either.

The 65th annual ceremony will take place on Sunday at its traditional location, downtown Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena (formerly the Staples Center).

The event this year features a star-studded lineup of performers, who have the potential to make Grammy history.

This year’s nominees are led by Kendrick Lamar, Adele, Harry Styles, and Beyoncé, who has tied with husband JAY-Z for the record for most Grammy nominations of all time. Notably, The Recording Academy added five new categories this year, for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical; Best Alternative Music Performance; Best Americana Music Performance; Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media; and Best Spoken Word Poetry Album.

Who is performing at the 2023 Grammy Awards?

The first wave of performers according to the official Grammys Twitter are Bad Bunny, Mary J Carlisle, Lizzo, Sam Smith, Luke Combs, Kim Petras and Steve Lacy.

In addition to them, currently confirmed to perform at the 2023 Grammy Awards are Harry Styles, Smokey Robinson, Maverick City Music, Stevie Wonder, and Chris Stapleton. The evening will also feature tributes to Quavo, Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac, and the late Loretta Lynn.

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Kendrick reportedly have declined to perform, however only time will tell if we will be getting a surprise set from any of them.
