Revisiting the dispute in a recent Telegraph interview, Porter voiced his longstanding grievances regarding Styles being heralded as a genderfluid fashion icon. Porter contended that his own efforts had ignited the trend of men embracing dresses in Hollywood, making Styles’ selection as the embodiment of this movement a source of frustration.

At the ‘Late Show,’ Porter had previously offered an apology to Styles for his initial comments. However, he has since renewed his perspective, maintaining that Styles benefits from privileges associated with his white and straight identity while capitalizing on the LGBTQ+ community’s sentiments.

Porter expanded his critique to include allegations of queerbaiting against Styles. He suggested that Styles deliberately maintains an ambiguous stance about his sexuality to cater to the LGBTQ+ community, even though his dating history appears to favor women.

The feud’s complexity deepened as Porter revealed his interaction with Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief. Porter claimed that Wintour sought his counsel on promoting LGBTQ+ style pioneers, only to overlook these voices in favor of Styles on the cover. This aspect further fuels Porter’s frustration.

With Porter’s Emmy speech gaining fresh attention due to the resurgence of his feud with Styles, conversations around LGBTQ+ representation, fashion dynamics, and the power of influence continue to take center stage in public discourse.
