Zachary Levi, 42, received backlash over Twitter for responding to a tweet that made it seem like he is an anti-vaxxer. Letitia Wright from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Evangeline Lilly from Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumnia received backlash last year for advocating anti-vaccine ideas, and Zachary Levi is now following in their footsteps.

Levi, who will be reprising his role as the protagonist in Shazam! Fury of the gods in March, responded to a tweet by Lyndon Wood – a self-declared conspiracist, who asked his followers if they concurred that “Pfizer is a real danger to the world?”

Levi’s tweets might have been mostly anti-big pharma than anti-vax. However, most people on Twitter did not see it that way.

While Levi is free to hold his own opinions and beliefs, however, such a divisive stance could have made him a target of the cancel culture, so soon after the premiere of his film. Wakanda Forever has had considerable box office success do far.

One critic on Twitter said “He’s a hardcore Trump Christian who supports Jordan Peterson calling him a “deep thinker,” while referring to Levi. “Zachary Levi tweeting this 47 days before Shazam 2 comes out is definitely something,” another added.

In response to the recent rumors that James Gunn and Peter Safran would be leaving their respective roles as they lay out their 10-year plan for the Warner Bros. Discovery/New Line franchise, Levi, along with pretty much every other pre-DCU actor, has addressed the rumors.

Levi would later acknowledge that he was unsure of what the future might contain, despite originally seeming certain that he would continue to be the hero.

Fury of the Gods could very well be the last time we see Levi as the hero.
