Rhea Kapoor names a cocktail from Sonam’s wedding that became an ‘instant hit’

Rhea Kapoor is not just known for producing stylish films like ‘Veere Di Wedding’ and ‘Aisha’ but her edgy and unconventional fashion looks is to die for. However, she has one more talent and that includes taking charge of intimate celebration at her home with a customized culinary spread that includes refreshing cocktail menus.

In an interview with Vogue, she talks about how she first discovered her love for cocktails at Death & Co in Manhattan’s East Village, and also she along with filmmaker beau Karan Boolani always has a ‘cocktail of the day’ on the menu during intimate dinners

She also reveals that she “took charge of the food and drinks” at her sister Sonam Kapoor Ahuja’s wedding back in 2018.

“One section of the venue was transformed into an old-school Ralph Lauren-inspired bar with a team of expert mixologists from across the country. On offer were smoked negronis, old-fashioneds, and a champagne cocktail among others,” she told the publication.

Rhea also said that people have become calorie conscious with cocktails too. “Remember that people don’t like too much sugar these days. So look at alternatives like unrefined sugar, honey or maple syrup to sweeten your drinks. Or avoid them altogether,” she said.

“At Sonam’s wedding, we had a guilt-free vodka and tequila-based cocktail called ‘Skinny Bitch’ for the calorie watchers. It was such a hit!” she laughs.

Sonam tied the know with boyfriend Anand Ahuja in May 2018 at her Mumbai residence.
