Stranger Things Season 4: Hopper used Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘Conan’ sword
- David Harbour plays Jim Hopper in 'Stranger Things'
- In Season 4 Part 2 Hopper uses a sword to behead a Demogorgon
- The sword was a prop from Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Conan' movies
‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Part 2 saw the battle against Vecna heat up, but a standout moment was David Harbour’s Hopper face-off against a Demogorgon in the Russian prison camp. Armed with a sword, Hopper knows both his and Joyce’s backs are against a wall – literally. However, Hopper manages to behead the Demogorgon in a memorable takedown sequence.
Now, the 47-year-old actor has shared that the sword Hopper uses is from the ‘Conan’ movies, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Harbour said “Nerd alert. The prop at the end of episode 9 is the Atlantean sword from the CONAN films. A lovely fan found a still of when it was established in ep 7 and used by an unlucky inmate who met an untimely death near the cells at the side of our gladiatorial pit”, continuing, “The real excitement behind this, however, is that the sword the incredible ST props department (reveal yourselves guys so I can credit you) gave me is THE ACTUAL SWORD used in the filming of both CONAN films. It was heavy as hell, and such a tremendous honour to wield.”

Harbour concluded by telling Schwarzenegger he’d accept notes on his technique.
The ‘Conan’ films came out in the 1980s and see the titular character being sold off into slavery as a kid, but eventually sets out to find the sorcerer responsible for the death of his family.

At the end of the season, the Hawkins sheriff returns to the town and is reunited with Eleven, who confirms that his new look – after losing weight and having his head shaved during the time in the Russian prison – is indeed “bitching”.
