- Dot is a castmember in Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies'
- Her 2017 track 'Everybody Dances to Techno' pushed her into the limelight
- Aditi Dot is the daughter of late Indian rock musician Amit Saigal
Dot is among the cast members in Zoya Akhtar’s latest Netflix offering, ‘The Archies‘, which is an adaptation of the English comic of the same name. The director’s Indian take on the long-running comic series, which led to the CW show, ‘Riverdale‘, shows a group of friends in vintage clothing enjoying a picnic, in the short teaser.
Among them is Aditi Dot, a singer, who could be playing the part of Midge Klump, who’s Moose Mason’s longtime girlfriend and Reggie Mantle’s longtime crush.
We see Dot in the teaser, though she became somewhat known with her 2017 track “Everybody dances to techno”, a catchy number prefacing the singer’s wish to dance instead of taking a chance on romance.
However, she gained more fame with the release of her 2021 track “Khamotion”, while her recent single “Wasted on You”, has been well-received by fans as well.
Dot’s inclination to music is underscored by her sense of visual aesthetics, as is evident from projects announced on her Instagram profile.
She has a video coming up titled ‘Wes Anderson by Dot’, referring to the Texas-born filmmaker, whose works are distinguished by tasteful colour palettes and soothing frames.
Dot is the daughter of late Indian rock musician Amit Saigal. She comes from a musical family as her father was an Indian rock musician, promoter, publisher, and impresario.

Known as ‘Papa Rock’ in India’s rock music subculture, Saigal started the Rock Street Journal, a music news publication, and promoted the rock music scene in the country.
While Dot has carried on the musical legacy, the upcoming movie will see her in a very different role. She is one of the seven friends shown in the teaser, with other cast members including the likes of Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Mihir Ahuja, Yuvraj Menda, Agastya Nanda, and Vedang Raina.
