The Wicketkeeper
of Indian cricket team and skipper of Delhi Capitals (DC) Rishabh Pant turns 24
today. Through his excellent performances in last 2-3 years in International
cricket he earned his reputation as one of the hottest young prospects in world
cricket who holds an ability to attack bowlers from a very first ball. By many
cricket experts, he is considered to be the X factor.

Rishabh has represented
India in 25 matches so far and scored 1549 runs at an average of 39.7.  He is the only Indian wicket-keeper batter who
scored two Test centuries outside the subcontinent. Pant is an integral part of
limited over cricket since MS Dhoni’s retirement.

#1 Fastest Indian wicketkeeper to
1000 Test runs:

The Delhi
Capitals skipper holds a record of fastest Indian wicket-keeper to score 1000
runs in Test cricket. Pant broke the record of Ms Dhoni during the Gabba Test
in the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.  Pant achieved this feat in 27 innings whereas
Dhoni had taken 32 innings to score 1000 runs.

#2 First Indian batsman to open  his Test career with a six

In the third
Test match 2018 at Trent Bridge against England Viral Kohli handed a debut Test
cap to young Rishabh Pant. When Pant came to bat Adil Rashid was bowling and he
smashed a straight six on only his second ball of his innings and creates
history by becoming the first Indian batter to open his Test cricket account with
a six.

#3 Most dismissals by wicket-keeper in a match

Pant become
the  only third wicketkeeper to be
credited with the most dismissals in a single match as he caught 11 times
behind the stumps during India vs Australia 1st Test at Adelaide in 2018. He
managed to took 6 catches in the first innings and  5 in the 2nd innings as India eventually won
the match by 31 runs. With this accomplishment, Pant also achieved the record of
the most catches in a match.
