toppers Chennai Super Kings will go head-to-head with second placed Delhi
Capitals
for the 50th match for the 14th edition of Indian
Premier League
(IPL). Both teams have sealed a birth in the playoffs and are
fighting for a finish in the top two. The two sides have played twelve games,
winning nine and losing three but the men in yellow lead by the Net Run Rate
(NRR).

The match
will be played at the Dubai International Stadium. In the last encounter
between the two giants Delhi cruised to a comfortable victory thanks to high
scoring shifts from Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.

Lately, both
sides have been excelling in different departments. The Delhi Capitals seem to
have lost their form with the bat but their bowling unit led by youngster Avesh
Khan
has been doing wonders.

On the
other hand, Chennai’s batting unit has been in impeccable form with both
openers Faf du Plesis and Ruturaj Gaikwad in splendid form. Although CSK lost, the
latter scored a century in the game against Rajasthan Royals.

It will be an
interesting encounter between the most experienced side in IPL 2021 and a
relatively young squad which houses a number of upcoming talents such as Rishabh
Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav.

Player
battles between Kagiso Rabada and Faf du Plesis, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Avesh Khan
as well as Shikhar Dhawan and Deepak Chahar will be intriguing.

Chennai is
the team with the most sixes hit in this season of the Indian Premier League.
They have sent the ball flying with Ruturaj Gaikwad spearheading the attack
with 20 sixes to his name.

While Shikhar
Dhawan who has been leading Delhi’s batting attack in the first leg of the IPL
which was held in India has not regained his form in the second leg. His
average in the first leg stood at 54 while in the second leg the figure has
gone down 20.5.
