Guy Gardner, a Green Lantern Corps member, will be portrayed by Nathan Fillion, who is well-known for his work in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”. Hawkgirl will be played by “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” actor Isabela Merced. Edi Gathegi, who won praise for his work in “X-Men: First Class,” will also play Mister Terrific.

Who is Isabela Merced?

Isabela Yolanda Moner, also known as Isabela Merced since 2019, is an American actor and singer. She earned fame for her role as CJ Martin in the Nickelodeon television series “100 Things to Do Before High School” from 2014 to 2016. The actress also provided the voice for the character Kate in Nickelodeon’s animated spinoff series “Dora and Friends: Into the City!” from 2014 to 2017.

She has played a number of different roles in the film industry, including Izabella in “Transformers: The Last Knight” (2017), Isabel in “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” (2018), the title character in “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” (2019), and Rachel Cooper in the Netflix movie “Sweet Girl” (2021).

After the recent announcement, it is clear that Merced will be donning the role of one of DC’s oldest superheroes, who originally appeared in 1940. It’s important to note that Aldis Hodge portrayed Hawkman in the live-action feature premiere of the character in the 2022 movie “Black Adam,” which is Hawkgirl’s counterpart.

The agreements with the actors have been completed precisely two years before “Superman: Legacy’s” scheduled July 11, 2025 release date. This date is crucial since it happens less than 48 hours before the SAG-AFTRA contract’s scheduled expiration (after an extension), which raises the possibility of an impending actor strike.
