WhatsApp has decided to come up with a display showing all the necessary information regarding the update in privacy policies. This is believed to ensure the credibility and authenticity of information that will be shared with WhatsApp users.
Whatsapp’s new privacy policy faced a lot of criticism in India. Several court cases were filed and the issue became a matter of serious debate.
A WhatsApp blog post regarding introducing the new banner facility aread: “We’ve reflected on what we could have done better here. We want everyone to know our history of defending end-to-end encryption and trust we’re committed to protecting people’s privacy and security. We’re now using our Status feature to share our values and updates directly within WhatsApp. We’ll be doing much more to make our voice clear going forward”.
The blog further says, ”WhatsApp will charge businesses to provide customer service on WhatsApp – not people”. This indicates that it will be an individuals choice to engage with businesses if they wish.
“While not everyone shops with a business on WhatsApp today, we think that more people will choose to do so in the future and its important people are aware of these services. This update does not expand our ability to share data with Facebook,” WhatsApp said.
The company said, “we’ll then go to people gradually to review the policy at their own pace before new business options are available on May 15”.
WhatsApp ensured that the messages will always be end-to-end encrypted and no third party will ever have access to any kind of messages shared between two people or amongst the people in a group.
