Sleeping on the stomach: Sleeping on the stomach is still one of the most common sleeping positions. The position is a bit uncomfortable and it affects your health in various ways. The problem of snoring can be controlled by sleeping on the stomach. People suffering from sleep apnea also benefit from sleeping in this position. But the position can also lead to neck and back pain. Though the problem of back pain can be solved by keeping a pillow under the lower belly. But it can weaken your neck and your lower back, too.

Sleeping on the back: The position can improve the body’s alignment and keep the spine, joints, and muscles healthy. People suffering from sleep apnea, back pain, and snoring can find more convenience in this position. It also helps in relieving knee and hip pain. However, it also causes lower back pain for some people. And if you already have that, it can make the condition worse. If you snore or have sleep apnea then it can aggravate those problems too.

Fetal Position: The curled-up position is often common among children and old people. The position can help with lower back pain. Pregnant women can benefit from this position and the problem of snoring also reduces. Sometimes an uncomfortable fetal position can lead to sore body and restrictive breathing. More than 40% of people sleep in this position. It’s the most common position for women, and they’re twice as likely as men to sleep like this.
