It’s Valentine’s Day, and lovers all over the world are spending quality time with each other to commemorate the occasion. It’s that time of year when the internet is inundated with messages of love and companionship.

Among all the photos, quotes, and well-wishes, a simple tweet by a 73-year-old woman about finding “true love” has gotten a lot of attention. Carol Mack, an American, described how she found true love after parting ways with her husband after 40 years in the simplest of terms. The single tweet, which includes a photo of Mack wearing an engagement ring, has over 1 million likes and 72,000 retweets.

She wrote: “Life is a strange thing. I never expected to be single again at 70 after nearly four decades of marriage. And I certainly didn’t expect to find true love at 73, amid a pandemic! Then there was this!”

The 73-year-old is described as a “mostly retired” nurse, attorney, educator, rights advocate, and public speaker in her Twitter bio. Mack, who lives in California, expressed her joy at finding love again, but she did not reveal her new lover’s identity.

Mack responded that she ended the relationship after discovering he was cheating on her when some of her followers asked if her husband had died.

“Thank you! My husband was not truly lost to me. When I found out he had another woman on the side, I kicked him out. I’ve never looked back since,” she said.

“I believe in arranged marriages!” says the author. Parents are the best experts on their children, and they don’t leave the decision to raging hormones. In addition, I believe that a happy marriage can be built on shared values and good faith. But I was on my own at my age,” she said in response to a tweet about arranged marriages in India.
