New Zealand’s left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel became the third bowler in the history of international Test cricket to take all 10 wickets in an innings. The feat was achieved in a match against India during the second Test of the series. The spinner-friendly pitch of Wankhede Stadium made things easier for Patel.

James Charles Laker, 1956
English cricketer James Charles Laker, better known as Jim Laker, was the first man to achieve the prized feat of taking 10 wickets in an innings, against the Australians at The Oval. His spin, little variations and perfect length enabled Laker to achieve the historic feat.
India in dominating position in 2nd Test vs New Zealand: Sachin Tendulkar
In the first innings he managed to take 9 wickets in 16.4 overs while giving away 34 runs. The other wicket was taken by Tony Lock.
Laker achieved the feat in the second innings when he took 10 wickets in 51.2 overs while giving away just 53 runs.
Anil Kumble, 1999
The former Indian leg-spinner delivered a phenomenal performance against arch-rivals Pakistan in a Test played at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. He became the second bowler in Test cricket to take 10 wickets in an innings.
Ajaz Patel 3rd bowler to take 10 wickets, joins Kumble, Laker in elite list
Kumble took 10 wickets in 26.3 overs while giving away just 74 runs and ensured a mammoth 212 run victory over Pakistan in the national capital.
The former head coach of the Indian cricket team claimed 619 wickets in 132 Test matches played for the country.
Ajaz Patel, 2021
Mumbai-born New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel took 10 wickets in the Test against India at Wankhede Stadium and became the third player to achieve the feat. The pitch assisted spinners and Ajaz reaped all the benefits.
