Fans miss BTS’ Jungkook at FIFA World Cup 2022 closing ceremony as Dreamers played at Lusail Stadium, Qatar

Jungkook, vocalist of the K-Pop band BTS, did not perform at the FIFA World Cup 2022 closing ceremony at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday. 

His single ‘Dreamers‘ was played at the event and several fans missed him. Jungkook was the headline performer at the opening ceremony of the tournament.

“closing ceremony in 30mins haha i wish jungkook could perform once again lol m just dreaming (a dreamer😎) BUT I RLLY WISH HIM TO PERFORM,” a Twitter user said. 

“Okay, I feel bad because I know Jungkook it’s not here today, but when I listened to Dreams, I wanted him to come out and sing it at the closing ceremony of World Cup 2022 🥹💔…….! #Jungkook #WorldCup,” another one added. 

“THE FACT THAT JEON JUNGKOOK LITERALLY CARRIED THE WHOLE OPENING CEREMONY??? cause the closing ceremony made zero noise 💀” a third one tweeted. 

Songs from the official tournament soundtrack that encapsulated key events were combined. Davido and Aisha delivered live renditions of (Hayya Hayya) Better Together.

While Ozuna and Gims performed the song Arhbo, the entire female lineup of Light the Sky—Nora Fatehi, Balqees, Rahma Riad, and Manal—was also present.

The hit song Dreamers by Jungkook is setting records and breaking them as it extends its winning streak.

The beloved global World Cup anthem, which broke streaming records, is now the K-pop solo artist’s fastest song to exceed 80 million Spotify streams. The previous record holder, Lisa’s Lalisa and Money, which took 33 days apiece to reach 80 million streams, was beaten by Dreamers, which took 26 days.

With Left and Right, a song with Charlie Puth, Jungkook also holds the record for the K-pop soloist’s song to receive 80 million streams in the shortest amount of time—just 18 days.
