BTS’ youngest lad Jeon Jungkook turns 24 today. Popularly known as the golden maknae of BTS, Jungkook has won hearts with his sweet voice and scintillating dance moves. His shy personality and hesitant nature have also won him millions of fans.

Born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea, Jung Kook initially wanted to become a badminton player when he was young. However, after seeing G-Dragon’s performance on television, he decided to become a singer. In 2011, he auditioned for the South Korean talent show ‘Superstar K’. Though he wasn’t selected, he received several casting offers. He eventually chose to become a trainee under Big Hit Entertainment.

“When Jungkook was a trainee, he couldn’t sing when we asked him to. He just twisted his body for 15 minutes and was very shy. He didn’t have much talent, so the company questioned if he could even debut,” Big Hit Entertainment CEO Bang Si-hyuk said in an interview.
