The final matchday of the Premier League season was a nail-biter, especially with the title race up for grabs between Manchester City and Liverpool. However, other teams have had key moments, like Tottenham Hotspur, whose 5-0 win against Norwich earned the London club a Champions League spot in the next season.

Carrow Road saw Heung-min Son score twice, becoming the first Asian who won the scoring title in the Premier League. The South Korean professional also reached a career-high of 23 goals in the English league.

Son shared his Golden Boot with Liverpool’s Egyptian magician, Mohamad Salah, who scored in the Merseyside club’s 3-1 win against Wolves, which still didn’t get them the PL title as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City beat Aston Villa 3-2

With Spurs taking a 2-0 lead against Norwich in the first half, Son’s teammates looked to set up the 29-year-old for the Golden Boot, passing him the ball more frequently.

Tim Krul, the opposition goalkeeper, had a tough time but denied Son a couple of dangerous shots towards the goal. However, when Dejan Kulusevski scored his second goal in the game, putting Spurs three up against Norwich, Son had more time with the ball.

He scored his 22nd goal of the season in the 70th minute of the game, which put him in a tie with Salah. Lucas Moura passed the ball to Son, after receiving it from Harry Kane. Son was unerring with his right foot outside the box, and would not be denied.

Son moved ahead of Salah five minutes later when an attempt from Christoph Zimmermann to clear a Spurs free-kick landed at the South Korean’s feet. Cutting in from the left, Son shot into the bottom right corner, taking his team five up against Norwich.

Salah, of course, went on to score late in the game at Anfield, tying with Son.

With Spurs winning, they have now secured a spot in the top European competition ahead of their rivals Arsenal, and this marks the North London club’s first Champions League appearance after the 2019-2020 season.
