Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades, who collapsed midway through the IPL auction on day one, said that he is absolutely fine in a 1 minute four second long video posted by the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The video shows Edmeades in a white button-up. “I’m very sorry that I can’t be in person with you today. As you can see, I am absolutely fine, but I just felt that I wasn’t going to be able to give a 100% performance, which is unfair to the BCCI, to the IPL, to the bidders, and most importantly it would be unfair to the players,” said Edmeades.

He added, “I just want to thank all those people from around the world who’ve sent me good wishes from as far away as New Zealand, and even one from halfway up Mount Kilimanjaro. Also very grateful to Charu for stepping in at such short notice to take over. The show must go on and it was amazing that he was able to get into the room and continue to make lots of money for fantastic players. I hope to see you later on, but in the meantime, Charu I owe you and good luck for your bidding today.”
