Indian-born Hong Kong cricketer Kinchit Devang Shah proposed to his girlfriend in the stands, after the Asia Cup fixture against India, and she said yes.

Hong Kong, in the T20 international against India, lost by 40 runs, but also managed to make a record of being the first associate nation to score over 150 against the Indian cricket team.

The newcomers chased an impressive 193, managing to make 152, losing five wickets, and avoiding a situation where the Men in Blue bundle them out. Hong Kong’s amateur players were appreciated for their efforts but Shah decided to make his day more special with the public proposal.

After he was engaged to his girlfriend, the Hong Kong team congratulated him. Those on the internet also reacted to the news with one individual on Instagram noting that Shah might have lost the game on the field, but this day would still count as a win for him.

The 26-year-old Shah, a middle order batter, scored 30 off 28 balls before Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him.

India managed to qualify for the Super 4 with this win, which came thanks to an explosive 127-run stand between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav

The former managed to hit 59 off 55 balls while the latter scored 68 off 26 balls. Kohli also came on as a surprise bowler for India.
