Merry Christmas: Sports stars extend greetings to their fans on Twitter

Christmas is being celebrated today across
the world. December 25 marks the birth of Christ every year, and people around the world
enjoy the festival as the year nears the end. Irrespective of their countries and
the religions they belong to, people join the chorus in celebrating one of the
world’s biggest festivals – Christmas.

As the world celebrates this year’s
holiday amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the sporting fraternity has also extended
Christmas greetings to their fans, taking to the social media platforms. On
Saturday, several sportspersons took to Twitter to wish their fans and
followers on the occasion of Merry Christmas.

“With a full heart, I wish you all a
Merry Christmas (translated from Portuguese),” Manchester United and
Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo wrote on Twitter with a family photo.
“Different years, same feeling! Merry
Christmas everyone,” legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar wished his fans
on the microblogging site.

“Wishing everyone comfort and joy,
health and happiness. Merry Christmas to all the people celebrating across the
world,” India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja wrote on Twitter.
“Wishing a very merry Christmas to
everyone celebrating,” former India batter Wasim Jaffer tweeted an image
on social media.

former India batter and current NCA chief VVS Laxman tweeted.
“The Fernandes family wish you a very
merry Christmas,” Manchester United and Portugal playmaker Bruno Fernandes
captioned a family photo on Twitter.

Manchester City and Belgium star Kevin de Bruyne tweeted a picture with his
family.
“Merry Christmas to everyone stay

cricketer Kevin Pietersen tweeted.
While football leagues across Europe
will return to the field after the Christmas and winter break, the Premier
League in England will have a fixture ready on Boxing Day, the day after Christmas.
