New England Patriots are dealing with a big quarterback conundrum as their backup quarterback Brian Hoyer was injured after a sack from Green Bay Packers’ linebacker Rashan Gary. He was then taken into the locker room and for further evaluation and was ruled out of the game.

The veteran quarterback was 5-for-6 with 37 yards passing before his injury. He was replaced by fourth-round pick Bailey Zappe. The Texas native played three seasons of college football at Houston Baptist and one season at Western Kentucky before being selected this year.

Now that team’s both QBs are out. Regular starter Mac Jones was injured after he suffered an ankle sprain in Week 3 and now the incident with Hoyer makes it difficult for legendary Head Coach Bill Belichick to direct his desired plays through the QB position.

Generally, when the team’s regular quarterback gets injured, the backup player at that position is called to play. But when he also gets suffers an injury, the third QB is called upon to take the ball-throwing responsibility. In an unfortunate turn of events, the last professional QB also gets injured, then the team would call a player who once was a designated player at this position or has a running back/wide receiver who the coach trusts to throw the ball for the rest of the game.

In this case, the team might rely on wide receiver Nelson Agholor to throw the ball. Agholor has thrown the ball in the past for the Patriots and being a veteran within the team, Belichick might not hesitate to trust his wide-receiver with this duty as well.

In fantasy football as well, Agholor is rostered by 8% of football managers. So far in the current season, he has stat splits of 14 targets for 179 yards and one touchdown.
