Viral video shows Kyler Murray’s post-game incident with fan: Watch

Following an announcement by Las Vegas Police Department that they are looking into claims that a fan in the stands hit Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, a new video of the alleged incident is making the rounds on social media. The incident happened as Cardinals was celebrating its 29-23 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in overtime.

Arizona Cardinals won for the first time since Murray decided to sign a $230.5 million, five-year contract extension. After winning the Heisman Trophy at Oklahoma in 2018, he was selected first overall by the Cardinals in the 2019 draft.

Following Byron Murphy’s game-ending fumble return at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, Murray was giving high fives to spectators in the front rows when a man suddenly appeared to reach out and hit Murray in the face. Murray appeared to be stunned but unharmed in the video, and he tried to spot the man among the ecstatic fans.

After the Cardinals’ victory, a battery complaint was filed, a Las Vegas Police Department spokesperson informed the AP on Monday. The complaint was submitted because “a spectator at the stadium struck a professional football player,” the official said.

Murray, who scored two touchdowns for the Cardinals in the second half and made the very crucial two-point conversion, was a major factor in the team’s comeback victory.

Murray went 25 of 40 for 224 yards and a touchdown in the second half after throwing for just 53 yards in the first two quarters of the game. He also added 28 yards and a touchdown on the ground to help the Cardinals win.

Kliff Kingsbury, the coach of the Cardinals, had told reporters on Monday that he wished that the fan was permanentaly banned from NFL stadiums. “I was just told about it. But I think that guy’s a lowlife, whoever did it, and I hope they arrest him, he gets fired and can never go to another game,” he said.
