match of the ICC T20 World Cup. The International Cricket Council caught Glenn
Maxwell attempting an unusual shot while batting in the nets during a practice
session.

While the
explosive all rounder playing unorthodox shots is something that all cricket
viewers around the globe have gotten used to, he managed to surprise us yet again.

In the clip
uploaded by ICC on Instagram Maxwell plays an inventive shot for a ball on the leg
stump. The video has been captioned, “What do you call this one, @gmaxi_32? #T20WorldCup

Social
media users were quick to flood the post with hilarious comments with a fan naming
the shot “380° ?”.

Another user speculated that Maxwell was just
trying to correct a mistake thus naming the shot ‘Mistake’.

The creative shot did not impress one of the
viewers as they commented, “Wasting a wide delivery down the leg side ?”

Maxwell has
been in good form lately as he comes off a successful Indian Premier League
campaign in terms of individual performance. He made 513 runs for the IPL
franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Australian was the highest run
scorer for his side and finished as the fifth highest scorer of the tournament.

It was his second-best
IPL season overall, the first one being a prolific season for the Punjab Kings
(then Kings XI Punjab) in 2014 when he scored 552 runs for his side.

Although, he
did not play a major role in Australia’s successful run chase against the South
Africans in the side’s opening fixture of the T20 World Cup, his 18 run knock
was crucial.

The big
hitter’s contributions with the bat and ball will play a big role in Australia’s
campaign for the T20 World Cup.
