Watch: Niagara Falls lit up blue in tribute to Buffalo Bills’ Damar Hamlin after cardiac arrest

Niagara falls was illuminated with blue lights to show support for the Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, after he went into cardiac arrest during a game on Monday.

In support of Hamlin, the Buffalo Bills, and the City of Buffalo, the Niagara Falls Illumination Board chose to blue-light both the American Falls and Canadian Horseshoe Falls from 9 to 9:15 pm on Tuesday. Watch the video of Niagara Falls lit up blue:

After tackling Bengals receiver Tee Higgins in the first quarter of the Bills’ Monday Night Football game against Cincinnati, Hamlin, 24, lost consciousness. After the tackle, the safety stood up briefly before falling to the ground.

The Bills claimed in a statement that Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest and required on-field CPR. Before Hamlin was transported by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, paramedics were able to restore his heartbeat. Hamlin is currently on a breathing tube and is still in critical condition.

In the City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown also called for a display of illumination to honor the player. Mayor Brown said, “Our continued thoughts and prayers are with Damar Hamlin, his family, and the Bills organization as we continue to watch and pray for his healing. Tonight, our entire community continues to come together as we light the City of Buffalo in Blue and Red in a continued show of support for Damar.”

Cincinnati has contributed to the effort to support the Bills safety. In support of Hamlin on Monday night, blue lights were turned on at Paycor Stadium, the Bengals’ home field, and red and blue lights were turned on across the city, representing the Bills.

Prayers and well wishes have been pouring in for Hamlin. Every supporter is eagerly waiting for updates on the player’s condition.
