After a series of bugs began impacting iPhone users, Apple has released a brand new patch to fix the issues as part of the iOS 16.0.2 update.

The patch should help fix  third-party apps’ compatibility issues that use the iPhone 14’s camera, such as Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat. When users would fire up these apps and use the rear camera, the view on the screen would shake. Additionally, the phone would begin making grinding and rattling noises.

In the patch notes for the update, Apple said that fixed the issues that where the “camera may vibrate and cause blurry photos when shooting with some third-party apps on iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.”

The world’s most valuable company has declined to offer an explanation, but an Engadget report suggests that the third-party apps weren’t working in tandem with the iPhone 14’s optical image stabilisation tech, which might have been causing the noise.

Another problem that users faced from the otherwise seamless user experience of the iPhone was that with the new iOS update, copy and pasting content between apps led to permission prompts popping up consistently, even where not required. Senior Manager Ron Huang had told Engadget that the prompts were “absolutely not expected behaviour.” The 16.0.2 update fixes this bug.

The new iOS 16 launched with its fare share of bugs, including one where a devices screen would go completely black during setup, which has since been fixed with the 16.0.2 update. Finally, the company has also managed to fix the bug where some of the older generation iPhones, like the iPhone XR, iPhone X and the iPhone 11 would have their screens become unresponsive after servicing.

While bugs are to be expected at the launch of any product Apple had to isse a day one patch after iPhone 14 users found that they couldn’t get iMessage and FaceTime to work.
