In back-to-back major ousters, Don Lemon learned that he was terminated by CNN the same day that Fox News ended their working relationship with popular right-wing host Tucker Carlson.
CNN terminated Lemon after 17 years of having a working relationship with him. Lemon is now claiming that he had no idea that he would be terminated from the network.

According to a memo provided to NBC News Monday, CNN CEO Chris Licht said that the network and Lemon have “parted ways.” “Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” the statement said. “We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

A couple of months ago, Lemon was briefly suspended for making sexist comments about Nikki Haley, saying that she was no longer in her “prime” at the age of 51. More recently, he was also caught on a hot mic making comments about former comedian Jon Stewart. It is not clear if he was ousted from the network due to any of these reasons.
Lemon joined the network after anchoring at NBC Chicago in 2006. Previously, working as a correspondent for NBC News, the “TODAY” show, and “NBC Nightly News.”
