Indian equity benchmarks settled lower on Thursday, with
the Sensex declining 310.71 points or 0.53% to settle at 58,774.72. The Nifty
dropped 82.50 points or 0.47% to end at 17,522.45. The broader indices ended in
green with the BSE Midcap index up by 0.20% and the Small cap index up by
0.17%.

The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Realty up
by 1.52%, Consumer Durables up by 0.89%, PSU up by 0.53%, Consumer Disc up by
0.31%, and Metal up by 0.07%, while TECK down by 0.88%, IT down by 0.88%, FMCG
down by 0.45%, Oil & Gas down by 0.40% and Industrials down by 0.35% were
the top losing indices on BSE.

Here are the key stocks that moved the most on August 25:

IDBI Bank: The stock ended 7.23% higher at Rs 43 hitting a
four-month high after a Bloomberg report said the government is considering
selling a 51% stake in the lender. Other public sector banks were trading
higher amid hopes of privatisation. In the Budget speech, the government had
said that it would divest IDBI Bank and privatise two public sector banks.

NHPC: The stock price surged 4.41% to close at Rs 35.50
after the company said its subsidiary NHPC Renewable Energy (NHPC REL) and the
government of Rajasthan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the
development of an ultra mega renewable energy park in Rajasthan. The main
objective is to develop 10 GW ultra mega renewable energy power parks. The
renewable energy projects will be developed either on EPC or developer mode by
NHPC REL.

RBL Bank: The share price rose over 5.46% to close at Rs
128.40 after a US-based fund acquired Rs 50 crore worth of the company’s shares
through a block deal disclosed a day prior. College Retirement Equity Fund
(CREF) bought 4,584,678 shares of RBL Bank on the NSE at an average price of Rs
108.86 per share. As of June 2022 shareholding data, the fund already holds
69,34,488 shares or a 1.16% stake in the company.

New Delhi Television Limited: The stock hit the 5% upper circuit
for the third straight day to close at Rs 407.60 after Adani Group announced it
would acquire a 29.18% stake in the company and launch an open offer to buy
another 26%.

Bharti Airtel: The stock ended 0.28% down at Rs 736.65
after promoter Bharti Airtel announced it will buy a 3.33% stake from Singtel
for around Rs 12,895 crore in 90 days. “Singtel and its affiliates have
entered into an agreement to transfer approximately 3.33 percent shares to
Bharti Telecom for an aggregate amount of approximately 2.25 billion Singapore
dollars, leaving direct shareholding of Singtel and Bharti in Airtel at around
10 percent and 6 percent, respectively,” Bharti Airtel said.
