The Indian embassy in Yangon has issued a travel advisory after the military coup in Myanmar, ANI reported. “In view of the recent developments in Myanmar, all Indian citizens are required to take due precautions and avoid unnecessary travel,” the embassy said in a statement.

It asked them to be in touch with the Embassy if required.

On Monday, Myanmar’s military effected a coup in which it detained leader Aung San Suu Kyi and other senior leaders and announced a year-long state of emergency.

In its statement, the embassy said the Air India flight, which was scheduled for Thursday has been rescheduled for February 11 “due to unavoidable reasons.”
