The BSE Sensex rallied 503.27 points or 0.94% to close at
54,252.53. During the day, it jumped 596.96 points or 1.11% to 54,346.22. The
broader NSE Nifty surged 144.35 points or 0.90 points to settle at 16,170.15.
The broader indices ended in green with the BSE Midcap index up by 1.44%, while
the Small cap index was up by 0.78%.

The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were Metal up
by 3.35%, Bankex up by 2.15%, Basic Materials up by 1.76%, Realty up by 1.43%
and PSU up by 1.42%, while FMCG down by 0.09% was the only losing index on BSE.

Key stocks that moved the most on May 26:
InterGlobe Aviation: The share surged 10.21% to close at
Rs 1,813.75 after the company said it is planning to raise fares to
return to profit after posting a loss in the March quarter. InterGlobe CEO
Ronojoy Dutta said profitability was the top-of-the-mind priority for the
company. “It’s clearly very—you almost have to hit the point—the
sweet spot just right because you can keep pushing up fares and then at a
certain point demand actually falls off,” Dutta said in an earnings call.
“So you have a tug-of-war but the key to profitability is to keep managing
our business on the revenue side,” he added.

Coal India: The stock jumped 1.71% to close at Rs 183.80
after the company reported a 46% year on year rise in consolidated net profit
at Rs 6,715 crore for the March quarter of financial year 2022. Sequentially,
profit jumped 47.4%. Consolidated revenues for the state-owned coal producer
rose 22.5% year on year to Rs 32,707 crore. Sequentially, revenue was up 15%.

Colgate Palmolive: The share price gained 1.06% to close
at Rs 78.25 after the firm reported a 2.8% rise in March quarter net profit at
Rs 323.6 crore against Rs 314.7 crore and revenue was up 1.3% at Rs 1,300 crore
versus Rs 1,283.2 crore year on year. EBITDA was up 1.5% at Rs 428 crore
against Rs 421.8 crore and margin at 32.9% year on year.

Page Industries: The stock was up by 2.62% to close at Rs
42,495.00 after the Jockey licensee reported a 64.2% jump in net profit for
March 2022 quarter from Rs 116 crore in year ago period. Revenue increased
26.1% increase in revenue to Rs 1,111 crore against Rs 881 crore. EBITD were up
at Rs 267 crore from Rs 170 crore and the margin was at 24% against 19% year on
year.

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises: The stock rallied 4.96% to
Rs 3,699.00 after the company reported a 42.9% decline in net profit for March
quarter at Rs 97.21 crore from Rs 169.89 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue was
up at Rs 23.7% at Rs 3,546.4 crore in March quarter from Rs 2,868 crore in the same
quarter of previous financial year-ago.
